Anne Boisson, Meursault Sous la Velle, 2023

The more slender, refined side of Anne Boisson's Meursault. Sous la Velle comes from vines planted between 1947 and 1990, and the style here is svelte and elegant rather than broad, a wine of finesse and fine mineral tension. Boisson, daughter of Bernard Boisson-Vadot, ferments with native yeasts and gives a long elevage of roughly 19 to 22 months, taking the wine to barrel with little settling for added texture and depth. The 2023 should reward a year or two in the cellar, though it already shows the aromatic delicacy that makes this domaine quietly coveted.
