Founded 1977 by twin brothers Ted and Terry Casteel with their wives; first estate wines in 1984. 75 acres in the Eola-Amity Hills AVA, planted on south-facing slopes at 480-620 feet elevation. Soils: volcanic basalt-derived Jory and Nekia on upper slopes, marine sedimentary Woodburn below. Certified organic and LIVE Certified since 1997. Own-rooted vinifera from the 1977-1979 plantings are among the last surviving in the AVA.
