The Story
The Bretons are icons of natural wine, best known for Pierre's Cabernet Franc reds - but La Dilettante is Catherine's dry white Vouvray, and it is a beauty. This is still, bone-dry Chenin Blanc from old vines on Vouvray's limestone and flinty clay soils, farmed organically and biodynamically with the couple's trademark low-intervention hand. Fermented with native yeasts and raised in stainless steel to preserve its energy, it shows Chenin's mineral, orchard-fruited side rather than any oak or sweetness. Vivid, smoky and precise, it is a joyful, easy-to-love white from one of the Loire's most beloved families.
