This is the estate's grand-cru Riesling from gray slate below the old castle, the stony heart of the hill, and it splits the difference between the more specialized blue- and red-slate bottlings: precise, saline, lemony, and utterly slate-driven. Busch has farmed this steep Punderich site biodynamically for decades and is one of the Mosel's reference-point growers; the wine is bone-dry (Grosses Gewachs), spontaneously fermented and raised in ancient Fuder casks. Elegant and refined, and a benchmark dry Mosel Riesling. Marked [Pre-Arrival ETA 7/15].
