The Story

From the benchmark biodynamic estate of Jura, Stéphane and Bénédicte Tissot's single-parcel Chardonnays sit at the heart of the modern Arbois lineup. La Mailloche comes from a prized lieu-dit of degraded Lias clay over limestone — terroir that pushes the fruit toward stony precision rather than richness. Vinified in the topped-up (ouillé) style with no oxidative aging, then raised roughly two years in barrel with a modest fraction new. The 2023 carries Tissot's hallmark vibrancy: chiseled, salty, with the long mineral grip Jura limestone delivers when it's farmed this carefully. A wine that argues, persuasively, for Jura Chardonnay as one of France's great expressions of the grape.
