Premier Cru Morey from a low-key, quality-focused grower. Domaine Stephane Magnien farms a small holding in Morey-Saint-Denis, favoring minimal oak and a light hand in extraction to keep the wines complex and refined. Les Faconnieres is one of Morey's Premier Cru climats, mid-slope and giving wines with depth, structure and dark-fruited character. The 2015 was a rich, ripe vintage that builds extra concentration here, making this both enjoyable now and a candidate for the cellar. Honest, well-made Cote de Nuits Pinot Noir that flies under the radar.
