The Story
Elio Sandri is one of Barolo's most coveted traditionalists, working 7.5 hectares at Cascina Disa in the Perno cru of Monforte d'Alba entirely by hand and instinct. Cement fermentation, long aging in giant old botti, no fining, no filtration, sulfur only at bottling. This Riserva from the Vigna Ceretta parcel in the strong 2019 vintage is a single-vineyard expression of his vision, dense and detailed Nebbiolo built for decades in the cellar. Production is minuscule, so this is a true collector's bottle.
