Jackpot, Red, 2023

Here's your house red for the whole summer, and it's not from where you'd guess. Jackpot comes from Casal do Ramilo, a family producer just outside the city of Lisbon, and it's a taverna-style Portuguese red built for easy, everyday drinking. The blend is Aragonez (Tempranillo) and Castelao, both local grapes, hand-harvested and fermented in tank with no oak to get in the way of the fruit. Dry, fresh, and food-friendly, it's the kind of bottle you keep a case of and never regret opening.
