The Story
Elisabetta Geppetti's Maremma estate produces this singular 100% Sangiovese from the Poggio Valente vineyard, planted on a foundation of sand with layers of sandstone and clay. Hand-harvested grapes undergo extended maceration for 30–35 days, then age 15 months in 500–600 liter tonneaux (20% new) before a further year in bottle. Brilliant ruby with cherry, pomegranate, and myrtle on the nose, it unfolds compact and elegant on the palate, punctuated by refined tannins and fresh minerality leading to a persistent finish marked by hints of licorice.
