The Jura sits between Burgundy and Switzerland, making distinctive reds from grapes you won't find elsewhere. "La Pépée" blends Trousseau and Poulsard—indigenous varieties that produce lean, mineral wines built on the region's continental climate and limestone-marl soils. Trousseau adds structure and darker color; Poulsard brings delicate, Pinot-like elegance. Les Bottes Rouges practices natural winemaking: indigenous yeasts, minimal sulfur, no fining or filtering—an approach deeply rooted in modern Jura winemaking culture. This current-release wine is bright, primary, and playful, ready to drink now but will evolve gracefully over the next 3-5 years. Pair with Jura cheese (Comté), charcuterie, or lighter meat dishes.
