Domaine Lucien Boillot sits in the heart of the Cote de Nuits, a family estate now run by Pierre Boillot, a master of terroir-driven red Burgundy who favors old vines and a light hand in the cellar. Les Evocelles is an upper-slope lieu-dit in the northern reaches of Gevrey-Chambertin, adjacent to several premier cru sites, and Boillot treats it with the same care, off vines averaging over fifty years old. It drinks like a premier cru in all but name. With this 2010, a fine, structured vintage, the wine has matured into its stride. Decant and enjoy now.
