From a family estate in the rolling hills of Siatista, in northern Greece, Vieilles Vignes Blanc is a field blend of old, own-rooted vinesâmostly Debina and other indigenous varietiesâgrown on limestone soils at over 800 meters elevation. Magoutes Vineyard is part of Greeceâs new wave: minimal intervention in the cellar, deep respect for local terroir, and a commitment to reviving historical techniques with precision and care.
The 2024 vintage is electric yet composed. Thereâs flesh to the fruitâwhite peach, pear skinâbut also a stony, alpine lift that speaks to the altitude. A touch of skin contact gives texture, not funk, and the wine walks that line beautifully between freshness and depth. Fermented with native yeasts and aged in neutral vessels, itâs a wine that prioritizes clarity over flash, structure over opulence.
Ideal with grilled fish, lemony greens, or salty cheeses, but itâs also one of those wines that invites contemplationâquiet, layered, and full of place.
