The Story
Belgian winemaker Jean Rijckaert—former co-founder of Maison Verget in Mâcon—established his own domaine in 1998 with 5 hectares in Arbois and 4 in the Mâconnais. En Paradis is old-vine Chardonnay facing the bell tower of Arbois church, grown on gravelly limestone and grey marl. Florent Rouve took over winemaking in 2013, bringing a focus on freshness and tension rather than oxidative funk. Spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeast, aged 10 months in 3-4 year old oak. Organic certified. Jura Chardonnay with mineral tension.
