The Story
Snowdenâs âThe Ranchâ is one of those under-the-radar Napa Cabs that delivers year after yearâa blend of fruit from their high-elevation vineyard tucked between Rutherford and St. Helena, made with care and zero excess.
The 2022 vintage brings a beautiful balance: dark cherry, blackberry, cedar, and dusty cocoa, with floral lift and just the right amount of structure. Itâs rich but not heavy, with fine tannins and a savory edge that gives it a little old-school Napa feel. You can pop it now with a quick decant, or let it mellow in the cellar for 5â10 years.
Winemaking here is handled by Diana Snowden Seysses (of Burgundyâs Domaine Dujac), and you can taste the influence: elegance, clarity, and respect for the vineyard over oak or ripeness. âThe Ranchâ is their signature Cabernetâserious enough to impress, approachable enough to open on a weeknight.
Pairs with steak, burgers, grilled veggies, or anything that calls for a solid glass of hillside red with structure and soul.
