The Story

A biodynamic blend of five estate vineyards from one of Oregon's most committed farming families. Josh Bergström returned from postgraduate studies in Burgundy to join his father John in 1999, and together they established Demeter-certified biodynamic practices across all their sites by 2000—making Bergström one of Oregon's earliest biodynamic adopters. The Cumberland Reserve is their flagship blend, drawing from over eighty acres of estate-farmed vineyards across the Willamette Valley to create a single cuvée that captures the diversity of Oregon terroir. Whole-cluster fermentation with native yeasts, twelve months in French oak with just fifteen percent new wood—letting the fruit and farming speak rather than the barrel. The 2023 vintage started cool and slow before finishing with grace and refinement: ripe red strawberry, marionberry, and blueberry with hints of dark chocolate and spruce. Medium-bodied, bright, and immediately inviting. Drink now or cellar confidently.
