Cappellano farms tiny quantities the old way and refuses scores and marketing on principle. The 2011 was a warmer, riper season that gave a more openly fruited, slightly earlier-drinking Barolo than the cooler classic years. It still carries Serralunga's backbone, but offers an earlier window into this hard-to-find bottling.
